Conrad Hill led this ride from Beavermeade thru Peterborough to Trent U over 7 bridges, past historical sites & thru areas in the city that most of us never see.

Frank’s Marmora Ride Wed Sept 11 2013

18 cyclists met at the Marett cottage on Crowe Lk on a hot humid day. Because of the heat & humidity we decided to do a new 30 km route rather than the 50+km ride thru Cordova. Frank led us out to Hgw 7 on Marble Pt Rd then into Marmora & out on Mary St to the iron ore quarry. From the quarry cycled across Hgw 7 to Centre Line Rd, north to Beaver Creek Rd then west up 3 short hills to Cordova Rd, On Beaver Cr Rd as the group was leaving after a rest Keith Buchanan started to feel weak & dizzy then fainted while straddling his bike. It was a scary moment but we managed to get Keith to the ground where he slowly recovered then Jim McIntosh cycled back to his truck, returning to pick up Keith. Then Bill a neighbour of the Marett’s led Pete Gardner, Bill Punt, Bob Hawker & Pete MacLoghlin back to Frank’s cottage. Cycled down Cordova Rd towards Marmora, turning on to Riverview Cr cycling beside the lake across the iron bridge to Cordova Rd south onto the Marmora bike path & down to Hgw 7. East on #7  up the cut to Marble Pt Rd & back to Frank’s for a lakeside lunch & swim.
